REPTILIAN

Casino croupier
Watches the odds
Knowing that his paycheck
Must swallow mine.
Evolution.

OLD IDEAS REBORN

like equality, humanity,fraternity
someone stole the light globe from our words
we can no longer say - "we" or "love" or "peace"
without a cynical twist
a post-modern sneer
underneath our words
are dolphins and crocodiles
one wants to play with us
the other sees us as a food source
turn the globe ON!

REASONS FOR GLADNESS/SEASONS OF SADNESS

Letting go of every moment-
Of all our many pasts and sadnesses
Of those we love - who leave - have left
Of those we need to hold on to -
We carry our selves through a wearied world
Picking up pieces day by day
Each night, numbering the named stars again
Just in case one goes missing.
THOM NOV 16, 2002

YOU HAVE AT LEAST TWO VOTES

One - for your good self
Another - mine - for your good self
Still more - with those who love and understand you
Even more - with those who stand with
and behind you - for you -
believing in you
So - when you lose faith (temporarily)
At least remember you are believed in
by me.

EYE DO NOT HAVE TIME

to be depressed - or a victim - or be at war with anyone
nor to react - or waste - not even self-indulgent poems
but eye do have time to link to conscious minds
to find more time in depth of communication
to seek out clarity of consciousness
in others as well as our many selves
to delve in deeper and bring on out
all the wondrous possibilities of positivities
when wonders are only what will unfold
when we attune to each others' highest selves
and bring and birth the new
as we are always meant to
and eye always have time
to listen to you!

AUTUMN IN TEXAS

Warm days, chill nights
Peace in poetry, war in the news
Music venues closing down
As police wage war on the peaceful
Every politician is naked
in their oil for greed
All is well in the skies
When only civilian aircraft are flying!

LEST WE FORGET

Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki
Waco, Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City,
Philadelphia, Jasper, Grenada
Libya, Beirut, Tokyo, Columbia
Cuba, Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua
Vietnam, Iran, Korea and Cambodia-
they also remember America!

OIL AND WATER DO NOT MIX

We cannot drink oil
We must drink water to survive
We are not yet fossils
We came from water, and will return
We are made of peace
Oil and war do not mix
