I FEAR NOT I IN TIME WE DANCE I FREE FUNDING I IF I TRY, TRY AS I MAY I
IF ONE BE BY THE SECOND I WHERE DOVES FLY I

FEAR NOT

Fear not what is said
Without your ears to hear?
Say what's yours without dread
But keep silent what you must

Hearts of love pass through the night
Every flower is given seeds of time
Whether they germinate
Or free fall to the ground

If, I count my blessings
I count you by my side
If, I would count my losses
The loss it would be, as I would hide

For we find within ourselves, a balance
As if the planet were too, around the sun
And everything was ours, to touch
As in a painting on a wall, behind glass

As this if a distant waterfall
As if in the crows nest, upon the trees
And say what is in, on my thoughts where
It be, be well, pray tell, be well

IN TIME WE DANCE

In time we dance the dance of life
In time we build our world and dreams
In time we will touch the clearing sky
And look at what we have sow

To catch the rain forest intact
To keep clear the seas so fish may swim
To grow the lands for all to eat
Wishing for peaceful river streams

As wishes may once come true
As mountain birds could fly
As sights of distant open fields
No teardrop would I cry?

Love of life, which is here in view
Of memory that we would wish
In heart felt open, from me to you
I give this poem too, to share, take care

FREE FUNDING

I need funding for a project
I need, so I work
I need love, for my garden
I need, so I flower my land
I need harmony, for my soul
I need, so I play and sing
Join me, make this world
A beautiful thing
Because you are in it

IF I TRY, TRY AS I MAY

If I try, try as I may
If I die, in death I may
If I live, that I wish
If I love, I love in hope

If I cry, there must be a reason
If I slip, there must be a reason
If I wish, I can try
Try as I may

For all in all, each has its season
For all in all, men grow to understand
To understand what they might
And still the world turns

I can, laugh at the clouds of confusion
I see, rain of hope
If we carry our hopes, forward
There is light for all to see

In hope there is no madness
Madness grows from darkness
As darkness for those that are blind
To see what can be

Try my friend, try my friend
In balance and freedom try

IF ONE BE BY THE SECOND

If one be by the second
time moves as a rolling brook
to think of how it is and how it was
I was young too
As chickens in the cow patch
As weeds in the time zone of now
we have just to think
of setting suns behind clouds of hope
and build from where we stand
war and peace there are many books
the hope is to learn and teach
from what has come before
rockets fly to the moon and beyond
in this corner stone of the world
the future is in our hands
empty is the worker who does not work
empty is the heart with food
grow as farmers
each and everything in season
time moves as a rolling brook
if one be by the second

WHERE DOVES FLY

Life is a product of what we eat, drink and sleep
What we hear and what we read
What we know and think we know
If only everyone could sing out and be heard
If only each voice was that of doves in mid flight
Like everyone I am searching
For light at the end of the tunnel
I have written much,
My music and words have echoed the walls of rhythm,
But I can't fill the ocean of my time
Will this planet, ever be, in peace and harmony
And running hot and cold water in every house
Oh the pain, oh the pain
Beam me up Scotty
Not again

About the Poet Sam Green

Sam Green first started writing as a child, where he was truly inspired by the "skits" the scouts use to sing around the campfires. 'At school I was dyslexic. Things I wrote didn't make much sense, and I was always being told off by the teachers for using incorrect grammar,' Sam recalls. 'Then one teacher corrected my spelling and took the trouble to correct the way I wrote certain letters of the alphabet. He liked what I had written and wanted to pin it up on his wall. I was 12 at the time, it was the first time I had ever been praised for my work. 'Because songwriting does not rely a great deal on grammar, more from a creative side, this craft has give Sam a new scope to his life.' Sam Green writes from the heart and soul, his true experiences of life. "I was involved in a motorbike accident in the early 80s. I was lying there in the hospital and the doctors wanted to amputate my leg. I said then, whatever happens, it's in the hands of the Lord. I was operated on, the leg was saved and in plaster for eight months. During this time in the hospital bed, I had the time to think about life and the universe."
