Terrified chickens are hung upside down by their legs on their way to be murdered at the Red Lea chicken slaughterhouse.
These poor chickens are having their throats by rotating blades. The machinery is coated with feathers and blood. Chickens are sensitive and affectionate birds.
The corpses of chickens hang on the conveyor belt, after having been dipped into the scalding tanks. The floor is a mess of blood, feathers and water. Chickens who have not died after having their throats cut are often scalded alive.
These slaughterhouse workers are hooking terrified chickens up by the legs at the slaughterhouse. Notice the plastic crates that the chickens have been transported in. Ninety percent of chickens have broken bones by the time they reach the slaughterhouse. Activists have heard them weeping like babies as they are being ripped from the cages inside the huge sheds. It all happens in the middle of the night.
The huge trucks carrying these plastic crates arrive in the city in the early hours of the morning, The small white bodies of the chickens are crammed tightly into them. Many suffer from broken wings and broken bones. Their legs fall through gaps in the plastic crates and are chopped off by the crates below. These trucks provide an excellent opportunity for animal rescue. Chickens often fall out and are left dazed and wandering around below. They can be rescued and taken away by activists as well.
Chickens legs that have been chopped off by the sharp plastic crates lay on the concrete at Red Lea Chicken slaughterhouse. Thousands of chickens right across Australia are murdered in the early hours of the morning while people sleep.
